Educational Migration Strategy Consultant

Hodaka Goto

As the Representative Director of Good Light Inc. (Labuan, Malaysia) and the Representative of Intelligent Beast (Japan), I provide consulting on educational migration, international taxation, and family strategy.

I have been involved in IPO preparation support for over 20 companies and have long been engaged in core corporate areas such as legal affairs, international taxation, information systems, and corporate planning. My involvement in early childhood education and parenting tech, along with experience touching on the development and educational environments of children aged 0-18, has led to my current work in “Educational Migration × Family Strategy.”

My activities are centered on the desire to gently, yet fundamentally, support families facing the question of “how to nurture the family’s future.”

International Background and Expertise

International Family Background

My mother was the Representative Director of Japan Netscape/AOL Japan, formerly with EY. From witnessing her connect global headquarters with the Japanese subsidiary during the turbulent dawn of the internet, I naturally learned about “living across borders.”

Foundation in International Law

Graduated top of my class from Sophia University’s Faculty of International Legal Studies (Academic Encouragement Award, graduated in 3 years). Studied primarily international law and politics, building a foundation for understanding “the rules of the world.”

Deepening in Taxation & Domestic Law

Studied domestic law, taxation, and international taxation at Keio University Law School, systematically learning about “the systems, finance, and corporate schemes when families actually cross borders.”

“International Law × International Taxation × Family Life” – the intersection of these three is the core of my expertise.

Dual Pillars: Corporate Career and Early Childhood Education

I have overseen legal affairs, information systems, risk management, and IPO preparation at companies such as UUUM, gloops, and Branding Technology. Six of the over 20 companies I supported after becoming independent have gone public. I have also been involved in establishing and organizing subsidiaries of large corporations, such as supporting the establishment and six-year organizational development and expansion of SC Digital Corporation, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.

Corporate Rationality

  • Oversight of Legal & International Taxation
  • Information Systems & Risk Management
  • IPO Preparation Support (6 companies achieved listing)
  • Overseas Corporation Management (Labuan, Malaysia)

Family Softness

  • Director at 2nd Community (oversaw early childhood education business)
  • Unifa Inc. (Childcare & Parenting DX)
  • Development and Educational Environment for ages 0-18
  • Engagement in Parenting Tech Field

I am in the rare position of being able to understand both the “rationality” of corporations and the “softness” of families.

Approach to Educational Migration

I do not aim to generalize a specific route. Rather, what I value is “dynamically optimizing” both the country and school according to the family’s situation.

01. Understanding the Child’s Individuality

Carefully assess personality, strengths/weaknesses, and English proficiency growth patterns.

02. Analysis of the Overall Family Situation

Consider parents’ work styles, balance of assets and education costs, and family happiness.

03. Optimization of Environment and Strategy

Examine domestic and international political/economic environments alongside future academic strategies (IB/IGCSE/US/UK universities).

04. Proposal of Optimal Options

Think together about “what is the option with the lowest risk and highest return at this phase?”

Educational migration is not a “relocation,” but a “continuous process of shaping the future as a family.”

On this site, I strive to explain topics such as Japan’s structural risks, Southeast Asia’s growth, international curricula, children’s characteristics, spousal decision-making, and educational ROI as clearly and carefully as possible. I wish to be a companion who helps families, as a single team, accumulate happy choices.
